CURRENT EVENTS


TITLE: Fire hydrant sends water spout 8m high.

WHEN:It happened on the 5th of july.

WHO: The people that were involved were the people that were round the time it happened, the police and also the people who came too check the water hydrant.

WHERE: It happened  in auckland O'Rorke Road, Penrose

WHAT: There was a water hydrant that exploded like the water came shooting out of the pipe. The people that were around that time were just watching the water come out. The water that came shooting out was like 8m high. The pressure was dangerous.

WHY or HOW it happened: It happened because the water hydrant burst out into the carpark.

What do you think the author wanted you to learn from this article?
I think the author wanted us to learn was to be careful around water pipes because if the water pipe burst out then the pressure from the water can be dangerous.

L.I: To summarise information about a current event




TITLE: Part of nose bitten off in Sydney fight

WHEN: IT happened on May 17 in Australia Sydney.

WHO: The people that were involved were the group of men, the 40 year old man, the police, the taxi driver, 41 year old man, and the court judge.

WHERE: This incident happened in Australia in Sydney.

WHAT: There were a group of men waiting outside for a taxi at 11:40pm outside of a pub in Regents Park. Then there were two men fighting that were in their 40’s. One of the men that were fighting bit part of his opponent's nose off. The 40 year old men that got bitten on the nose then went into West-mead Hospital for treatment then had surgery later on. The 41 year old man then got charge for causing grievous bodily harm on Wednesday.

WHY or HOW it happened:
It happened because the 41 year old bit the 40 year old man’s nose. It started when they had a fight in Regents Park.

What do you think the author wanted you to learn from this article?
I think the author wanted us to learn is that violence doesn't solve anything, and to be careful around fights. The author also wanted us to learn is if their is a fight walk away or tell someone.

This is my current events I have completed today. It was about a fight in Australia, Sydney and one person that was in the fight got bitten on his nose and had to go into hospital.

TITLE: Man sick of playing xbox on home detention asks for jail

WHEN: It happend on Tuesday 4th of June.

WHO: The people that were involved were a Whangarei man, and Constable Paul Nicholas.

WHERE: It happened in Whangarei

WHAT: A Whangarei man was sick of playing xbox and he was also on home detention. The man asks too spend the rest of his home detention sentence in jail.

WHY or HOW it happened: It happened because the Whangarei man committed a crime and that is what caused him too be on home detention.

L.I: To summarise information about a current event



TITLE: 'Scary' bite may mean op

WHEN: Friday May 17, 2013

WHO: The people that were involved were, Stella Twigley, her mum, the doctors.

WHERE: It happened In Pakuranga



WHAT: A girl(Stella Twigley) got bitten by a spider. The spider bit her on her finger then started to swell. The spider bite began to spread up her arm. The spider bite was getting worse, so stella had too go too the doctors. The doctors then gave her panadol and it didn't work so she went into hospital. Stella then began too feel short for breath and faint. Stella had too get surgery. The doctors said too stella that they might have too scrape the infection out of the joint in her finger.

WHY or HOW it happened: It happened because stella left it and it began too spread up her arm and causing the bite too get worse.

The author wanted us to learn is that if you discover you have a mark on your skin you need to do something before it gets worse.

This is my current events I have completed in class. It was about a girl that got bitten by a spider then it started to spread up her arm. What I have learnt from this Article is that if you discover any marks on yourself you need to do something about it like see a doctor to tell someone.
