Day and Night

In the night robbers loot the classroom and mice stare at them from on top of the solid desk.

In it there is a mythical creature
and a project
for doing away with the dishes.

And there is
a spaceship
which shall come first.

And there is
an entirely  new kind of people.
an entirely new animal,
an entirely new creature.

There are people
that all look the same.

There is a car

There is anti-boredom

And it cannot be restrained.

I believe
that only what cannot be restrained

There is much promise
in the circumstance

Olympic Report

Olympic Report

Are you fascinated about the London olympic games? The olympics are very interesting and fun to learn about.  There are similarities and differences between the ancient and modern olympics.  The factors we have been looking at are the events, countries involved, prizes, participants and uniforms.

As I was learning about the olympics I found out that in the ancient olympic games women were not allowed to participate or watch, so they would dress as men to watch their sons compete in the games.  Now in the modern olympics games people from all different countries come and compete at the olympics, and women are allowed to compete and watch.

In the modern olympics people from different countries come and compete at the olympics.  In the ancient olympics only the greek city states were allowed to compete such as Sparta, Athens, Megara, Corinth and Argos.

In the ancient olympics the competitors that were competing were proud of their bodies so they would compete naked with oil all over them.  In the modern olympics the competitors wear a uniform such as: shorts and a singlet or t-shirt.

In the ancient olympics the competitors  who came first, second, or third received prizes of laurel leaves.  In the modern olympics the winners receive gold, silver, and bronze medals.  Also if the men started falsely they would get whipped.  Today if you false start in the sprint events you get disqualified.

The sports that were involved in the ancient olympics were: chariot races, boxing, wrestling, running, equestrian, discus, pentathlon and javelin.  Now in the modern olympics we have more sports such as: athletics, aquatics, equestrian, and combative oriental sports.

There are many comparisons and contrasts between the ancient and modern olympics.  We have found out that the modern olympics and the ancient olympics are similar but have differences in some ways.  The factors we have been learning about are: the events, countries involved,  prizes, participants and uniform.  The olympics are interesting and fun to learn about.
